HIS mother was having a severe fit right in front of his eyes, but this seven-year-old boy showed how to be cool in a crisis.
Thanks to a sit down chat with his father only weeks before, Jessy Palmer knew what to do when his mother Kylie slipped into a hypoglycaemic attack.
He followed her into the bedroom and immediately called triple-0 when she had a fit on the bed in January.
"My husband sat down with Jessy a few weeks before," said Ms Palmer, a 31-year-old diabetic from Eglinton near Bathurst.

"I'm pregnant and my sugar levels can go a bit out of whack and he explained the situation to Jessy.
"He just remembered what his father had told him. (Jessy) went straight for the telephone and rang triple-0.
"I was a bit concerned if it ever came to that situation, I thought he might panic, but he kept calm and he knew what to do.
"I was very lucky. If he didn't react as he did I probably wouldn't have survived."

The triple-0 call captures the severity of the situation: "Excuse me, Mum just threw up ... come here straight away."
Jessy described his mother's condition, ran next door to get help when he couldn't turn her into the recovery position and provided directions to his house.
He was also able to keep his three-year-old sister Chelsie calm while his dad was away from home running errands.
Jessy is nominated for Pride of Australia Award Outstanding Bravery.
