Stephanie asks: My ex-husband has refused to allow me to have any physical contact with our daughter. When we divorced in 2007, we did not go through the family court system but made our own agreement as there were no assets to split. Though my daughter does not physically live with me I contribute 100 per cent to her financially. As my daughter is now 14, do I have any legal rights to demand access to her?
Answer: In the absence of a Court Order to the contrary you have access rights to your daughter. If your ex-husband continues to refuse access you will have to approach the Court for the necessary Orders. We are available to assist; contact us on 1800 848 848.
