According to a new UK poll, 14 per cent also say they have no idea where their mother was born, and 36 per cent do not know what her first job was. More than a third confess they do not know how their parents met, while 40 per cent cannot name their mother’s best friends.

Just more than a quarter ‘‘feel guilty’’ about not knowing much about their mother.

According to a new poll, 14 per cent also say they have no idea where their mother was born, and 36 per cent do not know what her first job was.

More than a third confess they do not know how their parents met, while 40 per cent cannot name their mother’s best friends. The survey, by genetics company 23andme.co.uk, found that just over a quarter of those polled ‘felt guilty’ about not knowing much about their mother.
