A woman is recovering in hospital after she was attacked by a buffalo in Sydney’s south west on Monday afternoon.
Just before 1pm, emergency services were called to a property at Denham Court, following reports a 41-year-old woman had been injured after an altercation with a buffalo.
Paramedics treated the woman at the scene for an upper-leg injury before transferring her to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
The buffalo is believed to be a resident at a farm in the area.

NSW Ambulance Inspector Audie Jousif said it was one of more unusual jobs he had been called to.
“We attend quite a few jobs involving animals but being called to a buffalo attack in Sydney is one of the more unusual incidents,” he said.
“These types of jobs can be really quite challenging for paramedics, especially with the possibility of an angry buffalo lurking close by – they need to be able to get to the patient quickly, but have to ensure they are not putting themselves in harm’s way.
“Our paramedics did a fantastic job in getting to this lady and providing the best possible care.”
