Police are treating the death of a woman as suspicious after her body was found in a western Sydney home on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the home on Borrowdale Way, Cranebrook, after a 31-year-old woman was located with serious injuries inside a home.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police taped off the home and were expected to be combing the home for evidence through the night.
“Officers … established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation,” NSW Police said in a release on Sunday evening.
Police have been told the woman does not live at the home; however, is known to the occupants.
At one point, just under a dozen officers and emergency personnel were on site.
Police cars and ambulances surrounded the property, near the intersection of Borrowdale Way and Woodgate Cnr.
A small crowd could be seen talking to police investigators outside the home.
The home is suburban: it is a single-storey brick house, surrounded by well-groomed plants and foliage.
There were three cars parked in a driveway: a corporate juice van, a ute, and a small hatchback.
As inquiries continue, detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area, or who has information that can assist, to come forward.
