A DISTRAUGHT wife screamed and collapsed after finding the body of her husband who was killed in a shocking hit-run on the Central Coast at the weekend.
Adam Beattie, 43, was found in scrubland on Scenic Drive in San Remo about 2.30pm on Sunday — more than 15 hours after he was fatally struck by a car late on Saturday night.
Nine News reported the father-of-three had decided to walk home from a pub after having an argument with his wife, Zoe Breakwell, who found her husband dead the following day along the roadway after desperately searching the area for hours.

“Screaming, collapsing, vomiting and screaming out he’s dead, he’s dead,” witness Julie Dyer told the network after seeing Ms Breakwell make the awful discovery.
“We were thinking someone had hit her dog, only to find it was a human.
“I just don’t understand how someone can hit someone and leave them. It’s not human.”
Police have said Mr Beattie was hit by a car while walking on the road about 11.30pm on Saturday night.
But he was left alone on the roadway for hours as his relatives searched frantically for the much loved father.
“Hey guys has anyone seen Adam beattie,” one relative posted on Facebook before he was found.
“Been missing since last night everyone is worried about his welfare pls contact one of us asap please.
“Ad if you see this please contact us we love you mate.”
Later Ms Breakwell took to Facebook to pay tribute to her husband.
“Broken is not even cutting how we all feel,” she wrote.
“Adam Beattie has grown his wings and flown to heaven.”
Authorities made a public appeal for anyone with information about the hit-run to come forward before a 43-year-old woman handed herself in at Wyong police station on Monday.
