Sydney drivers heading on holidays over the long-weekend have received an early Easter treat, with petrol prices at a new low in certain suburbs.

The average price for Unleaded 91 has dipped to the lowest seen in NSW since January 2022 according to price comparisons conducted by Compare the Market.

South Strathfield, Belmore, Earlwood, Dulwich Hill and Manly are among Sydney suburbs with the best fuel deals offered on average in the past quarter.

Compare the Market’s Chris Ford said a 45-cent drop in the national average wholesale price has “taken the sting” out of petrol prices for holiday-makers over the Easter period.

“There’s currently a 34-cent difference between the cheapest and most expensive fuel in the Sydney market right now. That’s a saving about $17 if you’re filling up a 50-litre tank so it is crucially important to use the fuel comparison Apps to find the best deal,” said Mr Ford.

Sydney drivers who shop around are likely to find a great deal on petrol today.

Motorists can now find Unleaded 91 in Sydney for around $1.63 today, but those who shop around will find themselves a bargain and some substantial savings.

The least expensive petrol can be found in areas in Western Sydney and the southwest.

Sydney drivers are enjoying cheaper petrol prices in Western Sydney and Campbelltown.
