Culture Kings, Aldi supermarket and Lids are some of the retailers due to open at Parramatta Westfield shopping centre ahead of the peak Christmas rush.

“Westfield Parramatta continues to evolve its retail offering to ensure we deliver an exceptional range of products, services and experiences tailored to our community’s wants and needs,’’ Westfield Parramatta centre manager Leanne Tompkins said.

“We’re proud to welcome new retailers across all categories to Westfield Parramatta as we continue to create a destination that people choose to come to, more often and for longer.”

Business Western Sydney executive director David Borger expects consumers to come out in force to Westfield now spending patterns are bouncing back.

“This time last year we were struggling through the last of our Covid lockdowns with hardly a soul on our streets,’’ he said.

“Attracting foot traffic and shoppers into the heart of our CBD is good not just for retail shops, but for food outlets and the overall positive feel of our area.’’

Mr Borger said Parramatta was fortunate to have Westfield in the middle of the CBD as a “one-stop-shop”.

“Being able to pop into a new cutting-edge Coles or into Aldi to grab some groceries while also having the luxury of shopping for the latest in street wear from Culture Kings or to one of the department stores for some homewares all in the same location is the ultimate in convenience,’’ he said.

The streetwear shop is expanding in Parramatta and the Westfield branch is slated to open at level 2 on November 19 when it is set to cement its claim as western Sydney’s home of streetwear.

Its Church St pad opened in December 2018 and is described as having a mind-blowing aesthetic filled “with the most sought-after and exclusive streetwear pieces”.

The Silver Collective

Shoppers after a little bling can look forward to The Silver Collective jewellery shop coming soon. Co-owners Maria Papazoglou and Anastasia Barba promise a luxe experience.

“We’re creating an atmosphere for our customers to enjoy the whole shopping experience, and through our interiors we have tried to make little to no difference between our Instagram and reality,” Papazoglou said.

Barba added: “We want our customers to know that what they see online is exactly what they get in store, and we feel that we’ve definitely brought that vision to life.”

Aldi

Get ready for a thrill at the till because the discount supermarket is making its Parramatta comeback after closing in George St in 2018.

It will be one of the drawcards of the fresh food precinct’s $33 million overhaul on level 5, where it will be neighbours with Coles, which will transform into a full-line supermarket.

The 7000sq m hub will be fitted out with exposed concrete, greenery, terrazzo flooring and black steel to provide a “modern atmosphere” for the space.

The supermarkets will open late 2022.

Health and wellbeing

All that cardio from shopping can be gruelling so shoppers can break up their expeditions with a little respite at Prime Massage near the fresh food hub.

If a wash and blow-dry for your tresses is your idea of heaven, Mirage Hairwill open next door.

Indulge in some petals or buy a present at VIP Flowers and Giftsjust before entering the level five food court.

Lids

Offering more streetwear on level two, Lids — the official merchandise supplier to the National Basketball Association — is slated to open in early October.

The brand sells more than 30 million hats each year and stocks athletic wear from the National Football League and Major-league Baseball, with almost 1200 stores in the US and Canada.

The brand will bring to Australia “the largest selection of headwear and jerseys, collector sneakers, sports jerseys, footwear and caps”.

Lids made its foray into the Australian market in August.

While Lids is no secret to sports fans and fashionistas that have travelled through the US, Lids president Britten Maughan said the young presence was growing Down Under, where more shops were earmarked in metropolitan locations before the end of the year.

Stylerunner

Sporty types will find loads of active brands at the level 4 shop.

“Stylerunner is thrilled to be a part of the community at Westfield Parramatta, bringing to the centre our unique curation of lifestyle and active brands from across the globe,’’ a spokesman said.

“From Joah Brown, to Stylerunner the Label, New Balance and Nike, we have something for everything no matter what your active lifestyle might look like.’’

Shoppers can also seek tips from a “Style Squad”, while also stocking up beauty and wellness products such as Ultra Violette and Vida Glow and all with a water can to keep you hydrated.

Trybe

The level 2 go-to children’s shoe shop stocks Vans, Nike and “is making footwear fun”.

This new go-to kids footwear destination is near Samsung.

Food

Fuel your shopping expedition with fare from new eateries including Wendy’s Milk Bar on level one, where a slice of Americana awaits. Think shakes, hotdogs, ice cream and coffee for some cheat-day treats.

On the same level as the train station concourse, commuters, shoppers and bread lovers can tuck into some carbs at Doughkyo bakery, which labels itself as the “bread masters”.

At the main Argyle St entrance on level two, Lab Bakery will soon offer its specialties of bread, cakes and coffee.

The bakery will be the third Lab outpost following Strathfield and Rhodes’ shops which are for those of us who prefer pastry over porridge at brekkie.

Timezone

Tenpin bowling, laser tag and arcade games have kept this amusement drawcard buzzing since it opened in July. With one of the biggest prize shops in NSW, the level four attraction is also a popular school holiday entertainment drawcard.
