Western Sydney shooting: Rebels bikie Chris Rymer and taxi driver shot

A notorious Rebels bikie has been shot through a taxi window in a brazen daylight attack in Sydney’s north west before his cabbie, who was also hit, drove the pair to hospital.

A bikie and a taxi driver have been hospitalised after a brazen day time shooting in Sydney’s northwest.

Rebels Bikie Christopher Rymer was shot through the window of a Silvertop taxi at about 9.30am.

The heavily tattooed man, and the driver, were both injured during the shooting in the Vineyard area, near Windsor.

The Daily Telegraph understands the cab driver was shot up to six times.

Rymer is in hospital after the shooting.

The driver then took them both to Hawkesbury Hospital where they received treatment for gunshot wounds.

Rymer was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment just after 10am.

Police have been told the taxi driver had earlier picked up Rymer from a home in Sydney’s west.

Police said in a statement it is believed the pair were injured after stopping at an address in Riverstone.

Officers from Hawkesbury and Quakers Hill Police Area Commands established crime scenes at Riverstone and Windsor which will be examined by specialist forensic police.

The matter has now been referred to the State Crime Command’s Criminal Group Squad, who have commenced an investigation.

Rymer has been one of Sydney’s most well-known bikies after his frequent posting on Instagram.

He regularly posted images of his luxury lifestyle to social media wearing designer clothes and shoes.

In 2019, it was reported that he had left the bikie game and become a family man who ran a dog breeding business.
