Video emerges of Callum Brosnan dancing shortly before festival death

It is the saddest video to emerge form the heaving sweat pits of Saturday night’s deadly rave at Sydney Olympic Park.

A 12-second clip of Callum Brosnan seemingly at play, dancing — or “hakking” as his friends call it — to deep electronic beats, water bottle in hand, with strobe lights and a screaming DJ in the background.

Callum collapsed at the nearby train station.

Police sources said Callum had taken drugs at the Knockout Games of Destiny festival before having a “fit” at the nearby train station at 1.20am.

He was taken to Concord Hospital and placed in an induced coma but died at 4.30am.

Three other people were placed in induced comas and were all said to be in stable conditions. It is understood that one of them has severe kidney failure from the overdose.

The tragedy comes just three months after two people died due to drug overdoses at the Defqon. 1 hardstyle dance event in Penrith.

“Look at us, my last ever memory of you hakking last night, I’m honestly broken,” Bianca Douglas wrote on a post with the video.

“I never dreamt that last night would be the last time I’d ever see you or hear your voice again … All the fun we had in legal studies right through to your last moments at knockout you had a heart of gold.”

On Saturday night, as the rave was starting Ms Douglas pleaded for fellow revellers to look after themselves.

Tributes flowed from friends and other hard dance music devotees.

“I can’t believe you’re gone man … Fly high bosman,” wrote close friend Makayla McGuire.

In court this morning, alleged drug dealer Jonathan Carey-Spence who was allegedly caught with 145 MDMA capsules at the festival, did not apply for bail as his lawyers sought more time to consider the case and other outstanding drug charges before the District Court.

Callum Brosnan died after attending the Games of Destiny dance party.

Carey-Spence, 25, was one of five people arrested for drug supply at the festival, including an 18-year-old woman with 390 MDMA capsules.

A group of supporters gesticulated as they left court, one yelling at the media.

His case adjourned to Friday.
