FOR six seconds a gunman stands at the window of Mick Hawi’s four wheel drive and empties up to 15 bullets into his face and head.
Incredible CCTV vision of the brazen execution outside a Rockdale gym of the Comanchero bikie boss last month emerged yesterday showing the demise of the once-feared kingpin.
Moments after Hawi gets into the driver’s seat the gunman appears from a row of parked cars, crouches, then rushes towards the car opening fire at point blank range.
The killer, shooting a pistol from his left hand, leans into the vehicle and at even closer range pumps more bullets into the 37-year-old father of three.
“Six seconds is a long time to be looking someone in the face and shooting them,’’ weapons expert former NSW police officer Ron Mason said.
“It looks like he has used a semiautomatic pistol, possibly a glock and used up to 15 rounds. It’s as cold blooded a murder as I have seen. He certainly was making sure he wasn’t going to miss.”
In the footage aired by Channel Seven the gunman, tall and gangly, seems to be nervous as his legs appear to jerk and shake while he shoots Hawi repeatedly in the face and head.
Miraculously Hawi was still alive when paramedics reached him but was already brain dead within seconds of being hit, according to one police source.
The execution of Hawi was captured on cameras from a shop across from Fitness First gym at Rockdale on Valentines Day where he had just finished a work out with a personal trainer.
Hawi had just returned to his luxury black Mercedes 4WD which he routinely left parked out the front of the gym instead of using the car park when he was gunned down.
It is believed Hawi suffered multiple heart attacks after being shot and police believe the black-clad gunmen ran to a grey Mercedes station wagon and set it alight in the neighbouring suburb of Kogarah.

Footage of two men dressed in black spiriting along a street nearby from where the getaway car was found burnt out emerged on the day of the murder.
Police had released only certain segments of the video during the early stages of their investigation and did not sanction the release of the full video.
A police spokesman said Strike Force Amirs detectives are “aware of the vision, and had previously obtained a copy, along with other footage taken in the area at the time”.
“Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting of Mahmoud Hawi are ongoing,” he said.
On Thursday the Daily Telegraph revealed police had arrested the son of a prominent Sydney hotelier trying to flee the country less than 24 hours after the public execution.
Detectives arrested the man at Sydney International airport and later executed a search warrant at a home in Sydney’s southwest where they seized a Desert Eagle handgun.
