Two charged over $900,000 MDMA bust in Eastern Suburbs
Police have charged two people over the alleged importation of almost $1 million worth of MDMA, hidden inside water filters from Switzerland.

Police have charged two people over their alleged roles in the importation of 6kg of MDMA, found in mail parcels from Europe.
In March, detectives commenced an investigation into the importation of MDMA into Sydney, where officers located a total of 6kg of MDMA inside two separate consignments of water filters from Switzerland on March 12.
The drugs have an estimated potential street value of around $900,000.
Police arrested 30-year-old Antonio D’Amico and a 22-year-old woman on Oxford Street, Paddington, on April 1.
The pair were taken to Waverley Police Station, where D’Amico was charged with attempt to import commercial quantity of border-controlled drug, while the woman was released pending further inquiries.
D’Amico, who is an Italian National, is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today.
Detectives then executed a search warrant at a home unit on Waverley Street, Bondi Junction, about 2pm on April 4.
During the search, police located and seized prohibited drugs, cash, electronic items, and documentation relevant to the investigation, but the 24-year-old male resident could not be located.
About 11.30am yesterday, the 24-year-old man was arrested at Surry Hills Police Station and charged with import commercial quantity of border-controlled drug.
He has been refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.
