Adam Ghaboush, 18, was arrested at his home in Lalor Park about 6.36am on Friday before he was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, reckless wounding in company, affray and two firearms offences.

The other man, 21 from Redbank Plains in Queensland, was arrested in Ipswich on Thursday and flown to Sydney on Friday after police were granted an extradition warrant for him and he yet to be charged.

CCTV vision from July 29 showed chaotic scenes as the alleged victim was stabbed in front of dozens of shocked onlookers outside Noir Nightclub Sydney about 3am.

Another man allegedly attempted to kick the alleged victim before security guards attempted intervened.

Police allege the alleged victim ran away before Ghaboush and other members of the group followed him.

The alleged victim fell over before the 21-year-old and another man allegedly stabbed him nine times in the left leg, torso, hand and shoulders including near his heart and femoral artery.

A 34-year-old man – who did not know any of the men – saw the alleged stabbing and tried to stop the assault, but was stabbed in the forearm and across two fingers.

The assault lasted less than a minute before the men allegedly ran to their car and drove off while the alleged victim was driven to hospital by his friends.

Police allege the men‘s intent was to murder the man.

Officers found some of the knives after they were discarded and obtained CCTV, with checks on the car revealing it was a rental.

Police also tracked Ghaboush and the co-accused’s mobile phones and Ghaboush’s identity was shown on the club’s ID scanner.

Telephone intercepts allegedly captured references to the stabbing while text messages allegedly showed Ghaboush alerted his co-accused to the alleged victim‘s presence inside the club.

During a police interview, Ghaboush allegedly denied being part of any attack or knowing his co-accused, the court documents said.

During a bail application in Blacktown Local Court, Ghaboush‘s high-profile defence lawyer Ahmed Dib said his client’s text messages indicated he was not aware knives would be used in the alleged assault.

He said Ghaboush was a young man who had never been in custody and was enrolled in a construction management degree at university.

Mr Dib submitted Ghaboush could abide by strict bail conditions including house arrest unless attending university.

A police prosecutor submitted Ghaboush would have understood the alleged victim would have been injured or potentially died if weapons were used, adding it was not “spontaneous” and involved a ”degree of planning”.

Magistrate Geoffrey Hiatt said the prosecution case was not weak and if convicted, Ghaboush would inevitably like receive a custodial sentence.
