Two hospitalised after crash at Stokers Siding near Murwillumbah
A man believed to be in his 50s was trapped in his ute and a woman and three children were taken to hospital after a horrific two car crash in the state’s north.

A man has suffered serious chest injuries and a woman has suffered abdominal injuries after a crash in the state’s north on Monday.
Emergency services raced to Richards Deviation, Stokers Siding just south of Murwillumbah about 12.52pm following reports a person was trapped inside their vehicle.
Police closed the five-way intersection on Tweed Valley Way, Stokers Siding as emergency services attended to a man, a woman, and three children.
Tweed District Rescue Squad located a man believed to be in his 50s trapped inside a seriously damaged ute.
Rescue crews from Tweed District and Brunswick Valley stabilised the ute, and after some time carefully removed the passenger side door with hydraulic tools.
NSW Ambulance and Westpac Helicopter’s critical care medical team attended to the man before extricating him from the ute.
He was treated for serious chest injuries and multiple other injuries before being flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the SUV, a woman in her 20s, was treated for abdominal injuries before being transported via ambulance to the Gold Coast University hospital.
Three children under 10 years of age who were also in the SUV were treated at the scene for minor injuries then driven to the Gold Coast Hospital.
Fire and Rescue crews from Murwillumbah, Burringbar and Murwillumbah Rural Fire Service attended for fire protection, removed spilt vehicle fluids and assisted other first responders onsite.
