Man and two boys charged after cross-border police chase ends at Tweed Heads
A man and two teenage boys have been charged with traffic and property offences following an alleged cross-border pursuit in the state’s north on Thursday.

A man and two teenage boys have been charged with traffic and property offences following an alleged cross-border pursuit in the state’s north on Thursday.
Police say they began pursuing a stolen Mercedes SUV after it crossed the border from Queensland and allegedly failed to stop when directed at about 12.20pm on Thursday.
Road spikes were deployed at the Cudgen Rd Tunnel, near Tweed Valley Wy, before the Mercedes stopped on the M1 Mwy at Cudgera Creek.
Three males from Queensland, aged 28, 17 and 16, were arrested at the scene and several items were allegedly seized from the car including two swords, a knife, tomahawk, cannabis and cash.
A 16-year-old boy, 17-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station before being charged with multiple offences.
The 17-year-old driver was charged with instigating a police pursuit, driving with a suspended licence, two counts of receive property stolen outside NSW and possessing a prohibited drug.
The 16-year-old passenger was charged with receiving property stolen outside NSW, use an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention and travelling in or on a part of a vehicle not intended for passengers or goods.
The 28-year-old passenger was charged with two counts of receiving property stolen outside NSW.
All three were refused bail, with the teenagers to appear before a children’s court and the man to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Friday.
