A Sydney developer has plans to transform four houses into an ultra-modern $33 million apartment complex which will feature a rooftop terrace, gym and pool.
It will contain 104 apartments spread over 13 storeys.
To be built on 7 – 13 Pearl St, Tweed Heads, the developers seek to demolish four houses and 14 trees to make way for the resort style complex.
Lodged by Sydney developers First Capital Finance Group on August 26, the building will be made of 12 one-bedroom; 64 two-bedroom; 24 three-bedroom; and four four-bedroom apartments with additional communal open space on the top floor.
There will also be a gym on level two for residents and a rooftop terrace with a sunbaking deck, barbecue area, outdoor dining and recreation areas on level 12.
Outside the building will be communal facilities including paved and landscaped areas and a swimming pool for use by residents.
Designed by Tony Owen Architects, the exterior of the building will be finished in a variety of materials, mostly metal cladding and glazed surfaces, which will be complimented by battens and framed windows.
The modern design also includes a range of landscaping including trees, plants, shrubs and ground covers at the front and side of the common areas along with deep soil planters on level 12.
Due to the $33,806,480 estimated cost of development, the project will be considered by the Northern Regional Planning Panel and not the Tweed Shire Council.
The developer has been contacted however has declined to comment at this stage.
