TITAN'S player Beau Champion and Tweed MP Geoff Provest joined the Toohey's New Crew in celebrating the completed renovations of Fingal Surf Life Saving Club on Sunday.

The renovations went to schedule and the New Crew left town to lend a hand to the next community in need.

Fingal Rovers surf club president Robyn Wonson said the work could not have been completed without the help of throngs of volunteers that came down in the last four days.

"Thanks to the Toohey's New Crew and the local community for showing their support and transforming our wonderful club," she said.

"Without their support and the renovations, the continuity of our club and the vital support services our lifesaving volunteers provide the local community would be in doubt"

The Fingal Rovers SLSC members were hard at work patrolling the beach when they received an official plaque of recognition from clubhouse staff to officially end the successful renovations.

A one-man band, club games and a barbeque rounded off the event, keeping the crowd well fed and in high spirits.

Champion said the awesome results the New Crew had achieved would help the Rovers continue to perform their important community role.

"Being based on the Gold Coast, I know how important surf safety and patrols are to our local communities," he said.

"Thanks to the crew, we can continue to see the Fingal Rovers patrol the area year-round."
