A massive 35-metre ferris wheel that can hold up to 144 people has been approved for Jack Evans Harbour next month.
The Skyline wheel by Xtra Ordinary Events was given licence for operation in August 2020, however Covid-19 restrictions meant the event could not go forward.
The ferris wheel, built in the Netherlands, stands 35 metres tall and has a site footprint of 21m by 17m.
The ride has 24 gondolas and can hold 144 people.
The ferris wheel is expected to operate from 10am to 9pm with lights off by 8pm on weekdays.
It is proposed the attraction will operate between June 13 and July 20, 2022.
The proponent has stated that the observation wheel can create a range of displays and can contain a sponsorship advertising area.
The request for a licence to operate was unanimously passed with the previous conditions at Thursday afternoon’s Tweed Shire Council meeting.
