Shopping centre's ultimate praise

THE $400m expansion of Robina Town Centre last year has paid off with the centre winning a stack of accolades at the 2011 Queensland Retail Property Awards.

THE $400 million expansion of Robina Town Centre late last year has paid off with the centre coming away with a stack of accolades at the Property Council of Australia's 2011 Queensland Retail Property Awards.

The centre won awards for Excellence in Design and Excellence in Marketing for Major Regional Centres over 50,000 square metres.

It also came a close runner-up for the Retail Property of the Year.

Senior centre manager Savvas Kououfides said the awards were the perfect recognition for the centre's stunning aesthetics.

"We are delighted that Robina Town Centre has again been recognised by the Property Council of Australia, and are honoured to receive the inaugural Excellence in Design award," Mr Kououfides said.

"What sets Robina Town Centre apart from other Gold Coast shopping centres is our outstanding facilities, beautiful environment, ease of access and an extensive array of unique retailers.

"These qualities are inherent in leading the design and marketing of the centre and its retail, leisure and entertainment precincts.

"The response from retailers and visitors is always very positive."

The expansion last year included the introduction of department chain Myer and the completion of the Fashion Mall including a throng of high-end fashion retailers.

The centre also hosts the Gold Coast's only David Jones and Apple Retail Store as well as Big W, Target, Kmart, Coles, two Woolworths, Event Cinemas and the Promenade lakeside dining precinct plus more than 6,500 parking bays.
