A NEW creek-side residential precinct launched at Salt Village this week has already secured $5.2 million in sales.

The lots were released on Wednesday and 14 buyers snatched up nearly 40 per cent of the development.

They were sold with an offer of a free architectural design package by award-winning Byron Bay designer and builder Phil Anstey, worth about $15,000.

As of yesterday, 23 home sites remain, priced from $435,000.

Ray Group CEO Tom Ray said the majority of purchasers have been young families.

“The Tweed Coast is really starting to step out from the Gold Coast's shadow, and people who want to enjoy a beachside lifestyle without the price tag are seeing this area as a great opportunity,” Mr Ray said.

On completion, the 73 hectare master planned Salt Village community will comprise of 1500 homes, resort apartments, resident apartments and villas.
