A SUNSHINE Coast man has survived a horrific crash which has killed his partner, their unborn child and his sister in Central Queensland.

A PREGNANT Sunshine Coast teenager has died in a three-car crash on the Bruce Highway 25km south of Miriam Vale this morning.

A SUNSHINE Coast man has survived a horrific crash which has killed his partner, their unborn child and his sister in Central Queensland.

The 21-year-old Bli Bli man was a passenger in the blue Holden Commodore sedan involved in a collision with two utilities on the Bruce Highway about 25 kilometes south of Miriam Vale just after 6am.

His 18-year-old partner, who was five months pregnant, was airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital in a critical condition but died in the operating theatre.

The Bli Bli man’s 16-year-old sister was killed instantly in the crash.

He was taken to Rockhampton hospital with critical injuries according to police.

Sources told the Daily his pregnant partner was conscious at the crash scene.

The 19-year-old Rockhampton driver of the commodore was taken to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition.

The Holden commodore and a silver utility, driven by a 43-year-old Hervey Bay man collided.

He suffered leg and chest injuries and was taken to Gladstone Hospital

A third northbound utility collided into the back of the utility.

The 57-year-old male driver from Townsville and a 54-year-old female passenger were taken to Gladstone for precautionary measures.

The Bruce Highway was closed for several hours after the crash, only partially reopening at 2pm.

In another blow to the Sunshine Coast, a 73-year-old motorcyclist was killed at Peachester in a two vehicle crash.

The Mount Crosby man’s son was with him at the time.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The fatal crash brings the Sunshine Coast road toll to 14 for the year so far.
