His abandoned car was subsequently found at a Cherry Bush Dr property at Cobaki on Friday morning, but police believe it may have been there since Tuesday.

On Sunday, police, SES members and Mr Liedke’s family searched a remote property at Piggabeen, 15km west of Tweed Heads.

Police believe Mr Liedke was seen at a property near the search area on Tuesday.

Police say they hold concerns for Mr Liedke’s welfare due to a medical condition.

He is described as being of caucasian appearance, solid build, 183cm tall with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Mr Liedke or his whereabouts has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.

More to come.
