Tamworth man charged over alleged Hastings Point sexual assault
A 42-year-old man has been arrested for an alleged sexual assault in the state’s north almost 20 years ago.

A 42-year-old man is facing charges after an alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy almost 20 years ago.
Police began an investigation earlier this month after receiving a report the boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man known to him at Hastings Point in December 2003.
Officers arrested a 42-year-old man in Tamworth about 7.30am on Thursday.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station, where he was charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault – victim under the age of 16 years.
The man was granted conditional bail and is expected to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on April 11.
