A Coomera father of six has been extradited into NSW to face the music for charges from 19 years ago.
Sala Pe’a, now 38, is alleged to have robbed a man of $500 cash, two pairs of sunglasses and a Nokia 5110 at the Lakemba Ampol on August 3, 2003 about 4.25am in the company of two other people.
He was initially arrested and charged on November 4, 2003 where he was granted bail in Burwood Local Court.
However he allegedly failed to appear on December 10, 2003.
Police arrested Mr Pe’a on March 14, 2022 at the Runaway Bay Rugby League Club before an extradition was granted in the Southport Magistrates Court.
He appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court from the Tweed Heads watch-house on Wednesday facing charges of robbery in company and failing to appear.
The prosecution did not object to conditional bail – noting Mr Pe’a had no criminal history since the alleged incident.
Pe’a was granted bail with the conditions to live at a Coomera address, report twice weekly to police and be of good behaviour.
His matter was adjourned to the Burwood Local Court on March 30 where his appearance is excused if legally represented.
