A North Coast police officer has been suspended from their duties for allegedly accessing restricted data.
The 50-year-old man was charged on Wednesday with eight counts of accessing/modifying restricted data held in computer and with misconduct as a holder of public office.
This comes after officers attached to the Professional Standards Command began an investigation in January into the alleged offending.
The policeman’s employment status has been suspended without pay.
He will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on September 16.
