Cooper Declhan McMillan charged with causing Charlie McMillan’s death

A teenager charged with causing his brother’s death has fronted court over the alleged attack at a Tweed Heads unit.

A teenager charged with of causing the death of his older brother has had his bail conditions varied to report to police less often.

Cooper Declhan McMillan, 19, appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court on Friday to face charges of assault causing death and reckless grievous bodily harm after an alleged attack on his 20-year-old brother, Charlie Adrian McMillan.

No pleas have been entered.

It is alleged by police the assault occurred at a unit on Kennedy Dr in Tweed Heads where Charlie McMillan was treated by paramedics before being taken to Tweed Heads Hospital in a critical condition.

Police allege Charlie died as a result of his injuries on Tuesday, June 15.

In court police prosecutor Sergeant Alix Thom said there were still eight items outstanding from the brief of evidence and asked for the matter to be adjourned for a month.

Mr McMillan’s bail was varied to report to police once a week on Mondays, down from twice a week.

The matter is next before the court on October 15.
