A Brisbane dental nurse has faced a Tweed court after trying to stab her partner with a knife, kicking her brother in the testicles and arming herself with scissors on the Central Coast.

Katana Fallon faced Tweed Heads Local Court pleading guilty to two counts of common assault and one count of stalking/intimidating.

Court documents state that Fallon attended Long Jetty Hotel in Long Jetty on the NSW Central Coast on the night of December 9.

The pair drank a number of alcoholic beverages before heading to Fallon’s brother’s home, where the partner fell asleep and Fallon kept drinking.

Fallon then woke up her partner because she was upset with him about 4am, her brother tried to intervene and he was kicked in the testicles, court documents state.

The man crumpled to the floor in pain as Fallon went to another room and closed the door.

Fallon’s partner entered to grab a jumper to leave the property and she pushed him against a wall and began to verbally abuse him.

He grabbed Fallon’s arms to stop her attacking him, left and went on to a balcony.

Fallon grabbed a knife from the kitchen and lunged at her partner, but he grabbed her arm and prevented the attack, according to court documents.

Fallon’s partner put her in a chokehold and her brother disarmed her, the court was told on Monday.

Police attended, Fallon was arrested and later charged.

Fallon’s defence told the court she took responsibility for her actions and apologised to the court.

Magistrate Geoff Dunlevy said Fallon’s case was difficult due to the violent nature of offending and her lack of criminal history.

He said: “In the ordinary course at the very least a conviction should be recorded against your name.”

But considering character references, and that it was Fallon’s “first ever offences”, Mr Dunlevy said he was “satisfied“ Fallon was “behaving out of character” at the time.

Fallon was sentenced to a two year conditional release order.

No conviction was recorded.
