Model Romeo Le Thorn faces court after being charged with pretending to be a returned soldier

A NSW Northern Rivers model, who has been charged with a litany of offences including pretending to be a returned soldier, has faced court.

Police will allege a shirtless NSW male model pretended to be a soldier and stole a litany of items from Northern Rivers homes, including various Australian Army uniforms, badges and medals.

Northern Rivers model Romeo Le Thorn, 37, has returned to Tweed Heads court after being previously charged with falsely representing as a returned soldier on January 5.

Thorn was further charged with possessing allegedly stolen Australian Army uniforms, badges and medals between December 17 and January 5, which police allege were located at his house in Tweed Heads, according to court documents.

Thorn has also been charged with possessing more than three unregistered firearms including two pistols and a prohibited firearm, and with allegedly having a knife in a public place between December 17, 2021 and January 5, 2022 at Stokers Siding, Tweed Heads, police allege.

Additionally, Thorn has been charged with stealing $10,000 cash from a Tweed Heads house on December 17, stealing $1000 cash that was allegedly found in his white Holden Rodeo ute on May 1, and allegedly stealing Apple AirPods from a house in Suffolk Park on March 19, 2021, according to court documents.

Thorn was also charged with getting behind the wheel while he was disqualified on January 5 at Stokers Siding, Tweed Heads and for resisting an officer on August 3, 2019 at Murwillumbah.

Police have subsequently laid two additional charges of intimidating a police officer, and resisting or hindering another police officer on January 5, 2022 in Lismore.

Thorn is yet to enter pleas to the charges and his case has been adjourned to October 14 at Tweed Heads Local Court.
