Wild footage has emerged of a Byron Bay-bound beer truck flipping on the Pacific Motorway in an afternoon of three chaotic crashes near the Queensland-NSW border.
The first incident – involving the beer carrying b-double – happened on the M1 at Ewingsdale, near Byron Bay, about 2.15pm on Tuesday.
Two NSW Ambulance crews were called to the scene to treat the driver after the truck crashed through several large trees and rolled.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson told this publication the driver suffered “minor injuries” and was transported to Lismore Base Hospital.
The rollover caused major delays southbound, with traffic affected as far north as Brunswick Heads.
According to the Live Traffic NSW website, conditions remained “heavy” four hours after the incident, with delays of up to 25 minutes passing through.
The second crash was further north at Chinderah on Ozone St, adjacent to the Pacific Motorway.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said the driver, in his 30s, was trapped with multiple ambulance crews and the Westpac emergency chopper on the scene.
A short time later, a car ploghed into a house at Banora Point on the Queensland-New South Wales border.
Firefighters provided first aid to the passenger of the vehicle and the resident of the home who was sitting in the front porch and was struck by debris and bricks.
