SOUTH Tweed Sports Club will wind back the clock an era or two when it hosts the Gold Coast City Big Band this Saturday.

Band members will take the stage at the sports club from 3pm and will temporarily replace the club's jazz night that has been running for 14 years.

The band will hold its performances on the first Saturday of the next three months, and guests will enjoy tracks from big band's golden age.

Lesley Rose from South Tweed Sports Club was prepared for an excellent performance.

"It's a great band, and people always love a big band," she said.

"This is a free afternoon so be early to ensure your seat and sit back and enjoy music from the Big Band era."

Tweed Shire songstress Tiffany Rae is the voice of the group and said she was looking forward to the show.

"There are good crowds," she said.

"It gets pretty lively."

She encouraged people to come on down and listen to crowd favourites such as Route 66 by Bobby Troup and That Old Black Magic by Frank Sinatra.
