Police believe they have dismantled a cocaine syndicate in Newcastle and the Hunter Region with three men arrested and charged with serious drug offences.
The arrests came after the creation of Strike Force Toongahra, in May 2019, which investigated the illicit drug supply in the Newcastle and the Hunter Region.
During raids on two homes in Anna Bay and Soldiers Point last month officers arrested two men, aged 29 and 31.
The younger man was charged with a slew of serious drug offences, including 11 offences of supply a prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis while the 31-year-old was charged with multiple large commercial drug supply offences.
During an appearance at Raymond Terrace Local Court last month both men were formally refused bail.
They are due to reappear in the same court on October 9. Following further investigations, strike force detectives questioned a third man, aged 24-year-old at Belmont Police Station yesterday.
He was charged with supply a prohibited drug and was granted conditional bail. Investigations are continuing.
