Horrific assault filmed on Sydney train

Shocking video has emerged showing the moment a woman allegedly hit a 19-year-old man in the back of the head with a bottle on a busy Sydney train.

The teenager was allegedly set upon and glassed on the train after he and a group of friends intervened with a couple having a loud fight.

Video footage shows the teen starting to bleed out in the carriage in front of startled friends on the Wynyard to Hornsby line early on Sunday morning.

“Are you right man? Where did she hit you, do I need to get a paramedic?” the boy’s friends say as he begins to bleed from his head.

Police said on Tuesday a 30-year-old woman from Hamlyn Terrace had been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

Paramedics treated the boy at Hornsby railway station about 12.30am before taking him to hospital, where doctors used 10 stitches to close a big gash on his head.

He was also allegedly punched in the face and suffered a broken nose and smashed teeth.

The mother said her son and his friends were heading home to the Central Coast when a couple who had been fighting moved into their carriage.

According to the mother, the boy and his friends asked them to quieten down before the incident occurred.

“I was contacted by ambulance officers and police 12.30am,” she said.

“As a parent you think the worst you don’t know what to expect especially when you’re so far away.
