High-profile investment banker Fredrik Blencke will swap his Vaucluse mansion for a prison cell for at least the next week after being refused bail on a fresh charge of assaulting his wife.

Blencke, 48, was charged with one count of common assault for the alleged attack on his wife Annabelle Price at their eastern suburbs home on Monday evening.

The top fund manager – who has worked for UBS, Goldman Sachs and Bell Potter – was also charged with two counts of contravening an apprehended violence order (AVO).

That order had been taken out by NSW Police in August following another alleged assault on Ms Price. A fresh AVO was also taken out by police against Blencke for the protection of his wife.

He faced Waverley Local Court on Tuesday where he was refused bail by Magistrate Carolyn Huntsman.

Magistrate Huntsman found he had breached the conditions of his previous bail which included not threatening or harassing Ms Price.

At this stage Blencke is due to remain behind bars on remand until at least December 21.

His new lodgings will be different from his registered address, a five-bedroom, three-bathroom Vaucluse home boasting a two-car garage and harbour views.

Blencke isn’t listed as the owner but the latest rental price for the $5.3 million home is $3400 a week.

In a statement to the Daily Telegraph through a family member, Blencke said he would defend the charges.

“I categorically deny the allegations and condemn the use of AVO proceedings to obtain leverage in post separation conflict, diverting policing and court resources from genuine victims,” the statement read.

“I am completely devoted to each of my three children and am determined to fight these false allegations.”

Blencke is a friend of fellow high-profile fund manager Charlie Aitken, whose affair with Hollie Nasser — the former best friend of his wife Ellie — has set tongues wagging in recent weeks.

In one photo of socialite couples Charlie and Ellie Aitken, and Hollie and Chris Nasser, taken in happier times last September, Blencke can be seen standing arm-in-arm with them.

Blencke had only just returned from an overseas trip following his wife’s 30th birthday last week. The pair married in 2018.
