Sunday Telegraph — We’re For You

FOR almost 80 years, we have been a part of your weekend; a guilty pleasure as satisfying as a Sunday roast. The media are changing but our desire to make your Sundays better remains constant. Sunday isn’t Sunday without the Sunday Telegraph.

The Daily Telegraph - We're For You

HOW good is Sunday?

Those lazy mornings hanging out with your kids. Breakfast in bed. Noisy backyard cricket. Fish and chips at the beach.

In an era of head-spinning change and increasing demands, Sundays still provide the ideal excuse to loiter. It’s the day to sneak a little ‘me’ time, spoil those you love and do the things that make you and your family happy.

For almost 80 years The Sunday Telegraph has been a part of that Sunday ritual.

It’s a privileged place to be — and it’s something we try not to take for granted.

As technology evolves and more players muscle in on the media landscape, it’s more important than ever that the Sunday Telegraph remains focused on you.

We’re for telling your stories; the stories of bravery, inspiration and triumphs big and small; the stories of achievements that make our communities great; the stories about your families and the stories that matter to the people of NSW.

We’re for helping you right the wrongs, fighting for the underdog and making sure our leaders live up to the promises they make.

We’re for talking about BIG ideas that make your lives better and making sure we are always moving forward.

The Sunday Telegraph has a proud history of fighting for the things that matter to the people of NSW — a good education, great hospitals and safe neighbourhoods.

For the past five years we have made campaigning to increase childhood vaccination rates our number one priority. No jab, no play has changed laws, increased vaccination rates and we have helped silence the hysterical anti-vaccination movement which has duped parents with fake research and blatant lies.

Under the banner of Can We Talk we have focused on public awareness of the epidemic of youth suicide.

The Sunday Telegraph is deeply committed to giving its readers a voice — and listening to what you have to say. We love it when you talk to us, disagree with us and contribute to the public conversation.

This newspaper has been the home of the loudest, proudest and most influential columnists in the business. From Mike Gibson to Piers Akerman, to Miranda Devine and our most recent addition, Peta Credlin, our opinion writers have led debate and changed minds.

Most importantly, when The Sunday Telegraph campaigns on issues that matter governments listen. And they listen because we are talking to you.

We’re all about giving you access to the decision makers and the best seats in the house — from the Prime Minister’s office to the State of Origin coach’s box and the front row at a Cold Chisel concert.

We’re for Sunday afternoons at Brookvale Oval, the local football derby, the New Year’s Test at the SCG and backing the winner in the last at Randwick.

Our sports reporters, led by Phil ‘Buzz’ Rothfield, not only break every story worth reading, they care about the integrity of the games they write about and they hold the players and administrators to account.

They understand the power of sport to inspire the next generation — your kids — to stay healthy and dream big.

Part of our job is to introduce you to inspiring people and to champion good people, from our community leaders, charity workers and carers to every day heroes and the bloke next door who takes out your garbage bins when he realises you forgot.

We’re for helping you buy your dream home, find the perfect holiday and choose the right movie for a date night.

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH — WE’RE FOR YOU

WE’RE FOR THE FANS, THE POWER AND THE PASSION

Through our popular body + soul section, we’re for helping you live longer, eat better and start the perfect exercise regimen — and we don’t judge if you, like us, keep putting it off.

We’re for life’s guilty pleasures — the perfect pavlova, the celebrity gossip you can’t resist, an afternoon of armchair sports and planning the next TV binge session.

We’re about saving you money — on your power bills, your weekly groceries and your mortgage payments.

We’re for making you laugh, maybe cry a little, making you think and making you care about the people around you.

We’re also for telling you the stories that are important but a little harder to hear; the tragedies, the disasters and the bad guys. Exposing the underbelly of Sydney — and the selfless coppers who lock them away — is something we do not shy away from.

We’re for celebrating a State with diverse cultures and diverse opinions but with a common desire to make life better for the generation to come.

The Sunday Telegraph, we’re for you.
