#SnapSydney 2017: Capturing images of our great city for the world

FROM spectacular footage of Sydney Harbour to thrills and spills at Wet’n’Wild in our west, thousands of pictures and videos have streamed in for #SnapSydney today. See all your sensational pics on our Wonder Wall.

A DAY in the life of our iconic Sydney Harbour has been captured in a mesmerising time-lapse video as part of #SnapSydney today.

The photographic celebration of Sydney’s favourite places and faces went viral on social media, trending at the top of Twitter during the day.

Photographer Craig Wilson’s three hours of rolling coverage from dawn shows the storm clouds disappearing and the Manly Ferry, along with other boats, making their way around the beautiful harbour.

The best of Australia has been captured in thousands of images as koalas, surfers and everyday people and their favourite places featured in a celebration of the world’s best city.

Hundreds of Sydneysiders and tourists alike flocked down to Circular Quay at lunchtime for the #SnapSydney pop-up party.

The event transformed Wharf 2 into an outdoor oasis complete with deck chairs and a DJ mixing sweet tunes while the lunchtime crowd relaxed and played a game of giant Monopoly Sydney in their lunch break or had their photo taken in our #SnapSydney photoframe with the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge as the backdrop.

From Bondi to the Blue Mountains, thousands of wonderful photos are being shared of our favourite places and faces.

Earlier today, an eye in the sky captured spectacular footage over North Head and surfers carving up the waves at Dee Why beach.

And former prime minister Tony Abbott shared a video on Twitter of him walking and talking with his newly-engaged daughter Frances as the pair took to the streets of Forestville as part of #SnapSydney.

The Warringah MP was out with fitness-fanatic “Francie” this morning talking about “all sorts of things including wedding plans”.

“We’ve just been for a nice walk around the backstreets of Forestville,” Mr Abbott said in the 14-second video.

Channel Ten weatherman Tim Bailey also got in on the act, sharing this gorgeous pic of his pet dogs.

Labor candidate for the Bennelong byelection, Kristina Keneally, shared a selfie as she door-knocked on the campaign trail in Ryde, while the GWS Giants posted pictures of their AFL stars sweating it out during preseason training.

Channel Seven stars also took part in the event with sports presenter Mel McLaughlin being snapped on location at Shark Park for the Women’s Rugby League World Cup and newsreader Mark Ferguson, meteorologist David Brown and the studio crew giving #SnapSydney a wrap on Seven News’s evening bulletin.

Everyday Sydneysiders also shared thousands of their pics as they got their day into full swing across our beautiful city.
