Sixth person charged over murder of Sydney teen Brayden Dillon

TEENAGER Brayden Dillon was shot in the head as he lay in bed in his Sydney home. This morning a man became the sixth person to be charged over the brutal killing after his flight from the USA touched down.

A SIXTH person has been arrested over the shooting murder of Sydney teen Brayden Dillon.

Intruders forced their way into the teenager’s home and shot the 15-year-old in the head as he lay in bed in Glenfield, in the city’s southwest, in the early hours of April 14 last year.

Five people have been charged over the teen’s death — most recently Abdul Abu-Mahmoud who was arrested after stepping off a flight from Thailand last week.

A 54-year-old man, who is the brother of Abu-Mahmoud. was arrested on Tuesday at Sydney Airport after his flight from the USA touched down at 6am.

A search warrant was executed at a home in Yagoona shortly after.

The man was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with accessory after the fact to murder, knowingly participate in criminal group assist crime, and do act with intent to pervert the course of justice.

The man has been refused bail to appear at Central Local Court later today.

Abu-Mahmoud, the alleged mastermind of the murder, was arrested last week after hiding out in Thailand for more than a year.

Abu-Mahmoud, who was associated with the Brothers for Life gang, is alleged to have organised the hit on the teen in a revenge attack after Brayden’s older brother stabbed someone else.

Police say the victim of the first attack was Abu-Mahmoud’s nephew.

Abu-Mahmoud was taken to Surry Hills police station last Thursday where he was charged with murder. His arrest follows that of alleged gunman Conrad Craig, his sister Kimberly Craig, Sophie Massie and Torek Ayoub.

Police first linked Abu-Mahmoud to the murder after discovering he had allegedly threatened to kill Brayden’s older brother and his family at a court appearance.
