BEING shot, stabbed, arrested, bashed — they’re the hazards that come with life in the Ibrahim clan.

Last night’s shooting of Ibrahim family bodyguard Tongan Sam is not the first time he has been shot at and marks the latest in a long line of attacks on the members of the Ibrahim family and their associates.

The 59-year-old, whose real name is Semi Ngata, was standing in the front yard of John Ibrahim’s mother’s house on Price St, Merrylands, in January 2011 when the home was peppered with bullets in a drive-by shooting.

The target of the shooting was understood to be the eldest of the Ibrahim siblings, Sam, who was smoking a cigarette in the front yard and took two bullets in the leg.

The most high profile attack came two years earlier when John’s younger brother, Fadi, was shot five times as he sat in his Lamborghini parked in the driveway of his Castle Cove home.

Fadi, the supposed playboy of the siblings, was left fighting for life and with lifelong injuries as a result of the June 2009 shooting. His now wife, Shayda, was in the passenger seat of the car and suffered a gunshot wound in the leg.

No one has ever been charged over the shooting.

John’s youngest brother, Michael Ibrahim was shot in the shoulder on Macquarie St in the Sydney CBD on January 4, 2015.

Even John, the nightclub boss and don of the Ibrahim family, is not immune.

When he was still a teenager, John was lucky to survive being stabbed during a brawl in Kings Cross. The incident was recreated in the TV series Underbelly: The Golden Mile where John was played by actor Faris Dirani.

In a radio interview earlier this year, Ibrahim said: “My stomach has poured out into my shirt, I could actually see it pulsating”.

Ibrahim also detailed in the book a second incident in the 1990s where he claimed to have been shot in the ribs at an illegal gambling den before having emergency surgery performed on him by a vet.

“One bullet is in the front-right of my rib cage, and the other has grazed my side and hit the wall behind me,” Ibrahim wrote.

But it’s not just the men. One of the Ibrahim sisters also found herself on the wrong end of a gun barrel in November 2010.

That was when the Ryde home of John Ibrahim’s sister, Armani Haddad, was peppered with 25 bullets while she was at the house.

With the Ibrahim siblings all approaching their twilight years, the violence directed at the family has crossed generations.

Hassan “Sam” Sayour, the then 19-year-old nephew of the Ibrahim brothers survived a shooting in Old Guildford on February 13, 2011. Also injured was a 23-year-old cousin, Jihad Hamid.
