John Ibrahim’s girlfriend, Sarah Budge, tried to cover her face this afternoon as she left Sydney Police Centre after being bailed over a loaded Glock found in her possession.
The 27-year-old model and bar owner looked downcast and was met at the door by a man, believed to be her brother Jack Budge.
The Double Bay local refused to answer questions from the media about the gun and how her night in custody was.
Budge had to surrender her passport and post surety before she was allowed to leave the police centre.
She was bundled into a waiting car and whisked away.
Her lawyer also didn’t comment outside court this morning.
Budge appeared via video link at Central Local Court this morning dressed in a long grey cardigan and was granted bail after a series of strict bail conditions were imposed — including surrendering her passport.
Magistrate Clare Farnan granted bail, noting it was not opposed by the prosecutor.
“This is clearly serious allegation but the Commonwealth DPP is not opposing bail … I consider any concerns that might arise are addressed properly by those conditions and accordingly I propose to grant bail,” Ms Farnan said.
Budge will have to report to Waverley police station three times a week — on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday — and is forbidden from travelling out of NSW.
“The conditions are quite stringent … and noting Ms Budge has no prior record,” Ms Farnan added.
Budge just days ago posted a glamorous photo from a modelling shoot on Instagram. Police allege she was found in possession of a Glock 26 loaded handgun.
The pistol is commonly dubbed the “Baby Glock”.
She was caught in the major police sting after officers executed 30 search warrants across Sydney during which they seized five firearms, small quantities of prohibited drugs and hundreds of thousands in cash.
She is not expected to face further charges.
Social media shows Budge and Ibrahim rang in the new year together at the Icebergs bar in Sydney.
Budge, a well-known identity on the Sydney night scene, was first spotted with Ibrahim in 2015 when they partied in Ibiza with Kyle Sandilands.
In the photographs, Budge appeared unsteady on her feet with Ibrahim keeping a tight grip on her.
At the time, sources said they couple had been together for about a year.
Police charged the 27-year-old with one count of possess firearm not authorised to do so by licence or permit contrary to section 7A (1) of the Firearms Act 1996 (NSW).
The maximum penalty for this offence is five years imprisonment.
Earlier this year the popular Crane Bar came under fire for food hygiene issues and was forced to pay fines worth more than $5000.
