RAIDS in Sydney and arrests in Dubai have targeted major international drug syndicates. This is what we know about the people targeted by police:

Fadi Ibrahim

He was arrested in Dubai alongside brother Michael. Fadi Ibrahim is the third eldest of the brothers.

His low public profile changed in 2009 after he was shot five times when ambushed by a gunman as he sat with his now wife Shayda Bastani in a parked Lamborghini outside their Castle Cove home in 2009.

Shayda, who was his girlfriend at the time, was shot in the thigh.

No one has ever been charged.

Last year, he sold the extravagant five-bedroom property with its marble and travertine flooring, swimming pool with water feature and 16-camera security system with fingerprint entry.

In June, Fadi was linked to the mysterious sale of a waterfront mansion owned by Jamelie Lahood

The younger Ibrahim appeared in the NSW Supreme Court, with his lawyers arguing he had a stake in the property, with Ms Lahood owing him $2.9 million in loans secured by a caveat over the Yowie Bay home.

The court agreed to extend the caveat, so long as Fadi paid the missing stamp duty on it.

Mustapha Dib

He was arrested at Dubai as he dined with the Ibrahim brothers.

The 34-year-old, whose nickname is “Fairy”, walked free from Goulburn Jail in February last year after his convictions for the murder of 20-year-old pregnant Anita Vrzina and the wounding of his former schoolmate Ahmed Banat were quashed by the Court of Criminal Appeal, with an acquittal entered in their place.

The panel of three judges found that the jury should not have concluded Dib was guilty beyond reasonable doubt, after Banat repeatedly said under oath that the gunman wore a balaclava, contradicting a statement he gave to police while in hospital.

Dib had earlier served time after pleading guilty to the stabbing manslaughter of 14-year-old Edward Lee. He was released on parole in August 2009.

John Ibrahim

His multimillion-dollar home at Dover Heights is being raided. He is known as “King of the Cross” and “Teflon John”. Recently released an autobiography of his life.

Steven Fawaz Elmir

He was arrested in Dubai. He fled Australia shortly after his brother-in-law Safwan Charbaji was fatally shot outside a smash repair business in Condell Park on April 9, 2016.

Ahmad “Rock” Ahmad

He was arrested at Carnation St, Bankstown.

He is the brother of slain standover man Walid “Wally” Ahmad who was shot dead at Bankstown Central shopping centre on April 29 2016. Believed to be a revenge killing for Charbaji’s death.
