RENTERS are being charged $200 a week to sleep on one of three mattresses in a tiny Bondi unit branded a rip-off on social media.
The studio apartment is being offered for $600 a week, or $200 per single mattress, with the landlord telling prospective renters the property is only two blocks away from Centrelink.
Pictures on a Bondi Facebook group page reveal two small mattresses on raised bases and a third bed on the floor inside what one follower labelled a ‘coffin apartment’, reports Daily Mail.
An ad says the fully furnished Bondi studio boasts three single beds, a new flatscreen HD TV, WiFi and fridge and is situated one block from Bondi Westfield.
But prospective renters weren’t impressed.
“It’s not a large studio apartment....!!! It is a cluttered box with barely functional ‘furniture’ and even if it was for free and right next door to the Queen of England... l could not live like that,” posted one Facebook Page follower.
