Accused bikie Jamie Saliba said he would kill a NSW detective for trying to keep him away from his baby girl, a court heard.

Saliba didn’t apply for bail at Blacktown Local Court today facing eight charges including instigating a police pursuit, carrying a loaded Glock with the intent to commit an indictable offence and not showing his P-plates.

In Burwood the hearing went on without him.

The court heard the alleged threat was made in private telephone conversations between Saliba and his partner Ashley Rose while he was in May Centre Prison in April 2016.

At that time Saliba was grieving the death of slain bikie Michael Davey.

The prison tapes were played as Saliba called a Detective Senior Constable a “dog”.

He complained to his partner that the detective would try to stop him from living with his daughter once he was released from prison.

“What? They won’t let me see my daughter, they can’t get me on any charges so they want to (stop me seeing her),” he said.

“They are hitting below the belt at the worst possible time.

“I will get out and live at my Nan’s and then sue the c**ts, or kill (the detective), either one.”

The court heard police listened to the recordings while investigating the death of Davey.

In the first of eight recordings, Saliba said he wished he had of “knocked” the detective out.

“They will probably charge me with intimidation, do it,” he was heard to have said.

“Intimidation my ass, you torment a bloke, you torment his wife and his mother-in-law.

“You go to my wife’s house at 10.30 at night, my best mate was murdered four days ago and you’ve been warned by my lawyer to not come near me.”

The hearing continues.
