FOUR prisoners are in segregation as police investigate the alleged stabbing of a one-time senior Rebels bikie in a savage jail house attack.
Zaidoun Al-Majid, 32, was allegedly stabbed in the neck and chest with “jail-made weapons” by fellow inmates at Wellington Correctional Centre, southeast of Dubbo, on Saturday.
He was flown to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Correctives Services NSW confirmed “four assailants have been placed in segregation” while police and its own investigators look into the attack.
Correctives Services acting commissioner Rosemary Caruana said guards did their best to treat Al-Majid, once a senior member of the Rebels’ Liverpool chapter.
“Our staff did an outstanding job in assisting the inmate and rendering first aid until health professionals arrived,” Ms Caruana said.
Al-Majid was initially jailed over a string of firearms offences in 2016. But after being convicted of affray and using a mobile phone while in jail, he received a six-month extension on his sentence.
He will be due for release in March 2020.
