A BEAUTIFUL young doctor who was stabbed 11 times and was doused in petrol by a crazed Tinder stalker has released photos of her injuries.
Twenty-nine-year-old Angela Jay released the confronting images, which were taken days after she was almost murdered by crazed stalker Paul Lambert, on Facebook.
She is raising money for White Ribbon Day by taking part in a hike of the Kokoda Track.
“The gruelling Kokoda Track seems such an impossible feat!,” she wrote.
“It will be (by far) my most physically challenging adventure yet ... Then I remember that my legs can do ANYTHING!”
Dr Jay’s photos show the huge stitches required after she was stabbed repeatedly in her legs by Lambert.
“Despite 11 stab wounds and losing a huge amount of blood, they found the strength to lift me off the ground and RUN! They carried me to freedom ... they gave me my life ... they gave me a second chance,” Dr Jay wrote.
“My legs are so STRONG and with them I will take on Kokoda. Feeling grateful every step of the way.”
Dr Jay said the photos were taken at the darkest time of her life.
“These photos were taken days after I was almost murdered. It is with courage I share them with you — looking at them still shakes me to the core and reminds me of the darkest time in my life,” she wrote.
Ms Jay arrived back at her Port Macquarie home in November 2016 after a day of work to find Lambert had broken into her house.
In a rage he stabbed her repeatedly with a large knife and poured petrol over her.
Somehow the brave doctor managed to escape and ran to a neighbour’s house, where incredibly she was able to tell the male neighbour what to do to stem the bleeding.
By the time paramedics and police arrived, she was stabilised but in a serious condition and was rushed to Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph following the horrific attack Ms Jay said: “I looked down at my legs and saw stab wounds and thought, ‘My God, he’s going to kill me, I’m going to bleed to death’.”
“I put pressure on my leg using my hand, all the time thinking, ‘I need to get out of here.’ He caught me again and started pouring petrol over me, there was terror now and that gave me extra strength to run.
Dr Jay is will walk the 96km Papua New Guinea trail in the footsteps of Australia’s fallen World War II soldiers in April.
