CHILLING details have emerged about sadistic Tinder stalker Paul Dennis Lambert’s evil attempt to rape and murder a beautiful young NSW doctor — simply because she didn’t want to go out with him.
Just weeks after meeting Angela Jay, 28, on the popular dating app, the deranged Sydney finance worker broke into her home in Port Macquarie on Thursday and lay in wait for her to come home from work.
He placed her underwear on her bed, along with some cable ties to use for the rape, then doused the bed and her walk-in wardrobe in petrol.
With knife in hand, Lambert, 36, sat down and waited.
When Ms Jay got home about 6pm, he attacked her in a stabbing frenzy, slashing her 11 times.
Investigators believe he had a sick fantasy to rape the young doctor, kill her and then burn down the house.
But Ms Jay somehow managed to break free and run through the family room, out through the carport and up a steep driveway to her neighbours house.
Incredibly, after collapsing in a pool of blood, she then told her neighbour what to do to stop the bleeding after he had called for help.
Police believe Lambert, who had threatened Ms Jay with violence repeatedly after she broke up with him, did not want the object of his obsession to live, or be with anyone else.
So he hatched his heinous plan to murder her and burn the house down to destroy all evidence of his attack.
His frenzied assault was so violent that blood splatter marks were left on the walls of the wardrobe and throughout the bedroom, police sources told The Daily Telegraph.
Lambert was later shot dead by police after fleeing in a hire car.
He was cornered at Bonville, near Coffs Harbour, about 9.45pm and when he continued to lunge at police with a knife after being Tasered, he was gunned down.
Lambert, a finance worker, from Brisbane who moved to Sydney, had a long history of violence and stalking charges.
He was deported from the US last year after he was arrested for stalking a TV reporter.
He also assaulted his ex-wife on the day they went to sign their divorce papers.
Lambert, who changed his name from Paul Scales, met Ms Jay on Tinder eight weeks ago, but she quickly broke it off.
He then bombarded her with incessant calls and threats, forcing her to go to the police and apply for an AVO, which proved to be worthless.
In the end it was only her remarkable courage that saved her life, and miraculously she has already been released from hospital.
