Police hunting two men who posed as officers to rob supermarket
Two men are on the run after robbing a supermarket in Campsie while pretending to be police officers. An employee who refused to hand over cash to the wannabe cops was hit in the face in front of witnesses.
Two men are on the run after robbing a supermarket in Sydney’s southwest while posing as police officers.
Police say the pair entered the shop on Beamish Street in Campsie last night and approached the counter where a man was working.
The two men produced identification in an attempt to prove they were officers and demanded money from the employee.

When he refused to hand over cash a fight broke out and the men hit the 32-year-old in the face before stealing his gold chain and fleeing the store.
They were last seen walking north on Beamish Street.
Bystanders who witnessed the argument flagged down nearby police who were patrolling the area.
The employee was treated by paramedics for a facial laceration and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Investigators are now asking for help from the public to identify the two men following descriptions from witnesses at the scene.
The first man is of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance aged 30 to 40 years old with short dark hair.
He was seen wearing a black t-shirt, pants and thongs with a lanyard around his neck.
The second man is of caucasian appearance aged in his 30s with blonde hair tied up in a bun.
He was wearing a dark suit at the time of the incident with brown shoes and sunglasses.
