Pedestrian hit by car and killed in Sydney’s northwest

A woman was killed after she was hit by a car in a carpark outside a gardening nursery in Sydney’s northwest on Sunday afternoon.

A WOMAN was killed after she was hit by a car outside a gardening nursery in Sydney’s northwest on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the car park of ANL Garden Centres on Wicks Rd, North Ryde, following reports the woman had fallen over before being struck by a car about 12.30pm.

Paramedics tried to revive her but she could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. She has yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the car, a 66-year-old woman, was not injured in the collision and has been taken to Ryde Hospital, where she will undergo mandatory testing for alcohol and drugs.

Police remain on scene and are calling on anyone with dashcam vision of the incident to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
