Patrick and Tamsin Johnson renovate Kendall Lodge; Nat and Harmony Butcher build first home

Well-heeled duo Patrick and Tamsin Johnson are set to modernise their Darling Point trophy home Kendall Lodge, while Roosters star Nat Butcher and his model wife are building their first house.

An architectural gem rejuvenated

Stylish Sydney couple, tailor Patrick Johnson and his interior designer wife Tamsin, have finally secured approval for further renovations to Kendall Lodge, their Darling Point home.

The development application was first lodged shortly after the 1928 house had been listed with $24m hopes without success in early 2023.

They paid $10.05m for the three-level house in 2020.

The $356,950 plan advised Woollahra Council the application “responds to the family experience living in the dwelling”.

“It specifically addresses the identified needs of a modern family with young children, modern motor vehicles with an electrical charging station, and accommodation for guest/au-pair assistance required for young children with working parents,” it said.

It proposes to widen the garage to allow for two cars while adding accommodation below the garage.

The plans also add a breakfast room and pantry adjacent to the kitchen.

The works have been designed by Imran Radin at Foundsite Architecture who consulted heritage architect Ruth Daniel.

The couple undertook a $708,000 renovation in 2021.

ROOSTER CROWS ABOUT FIRST HOME

A Sydney Roosters gun and his model wife are building their first home together with the help of another high-profile couple.

Nat and Harmony Butcher have enlisted Sydney building company FutureFlip to construct their first home in Sydney’s east.

FutureFlip is owned by multi-millionaire property developer Neil Hipwell and his wife Krystal, a former model who appeared on reality series Big Brother in 2006.

Mrs Butcher — the eldest daughter of former Hillsong Australia pastors Joel and Julia A’Bell — posted videos from the building site on social media, expressing her excitement for a “sunken lounge area” in the home’s design.

The Butchers recently welcomed their first son Beau on April 5.

In recent years, the Hipwells transitioned their business from a focus on swift turnarounds for new builds and renovations into luxury home design across NSW.

In addition to their construction clients, the Hipwells own a number of luxury holiday homes under their business Bunker Escapes in the Snowy Mountains, Byron Bay, and the Shoalhaven.
