Confidential is excited to reveal The Daily Telegraph is presenting an award at the upcoming inaugural Jamie Oliver Food Hero Awards.
This newspaper is presenting the Food Educator of the Year category, with nominations open now.
The awards shine a light on the people and communities across the country doing brilliant things to inspire kids through food.
“In a world where we can hear a lot of bad news, this is stuff that makes the hairs on the back of your neck go up, it is the stuff that makes you sincerely want to shed a tear of joy,” Oliver told The Daily Telegraph.
“What we’ve learnt this last couple of years is we always talk about big problems and big numbers and top line, but this is really under the skin in the woods and often hundreds of people as opposed to tens of thousands.”
The Food Educator of the Year Award recognises educators going above and beyond to inspire children in schools, OSHC (out-of-school-hours care) programs and early childhood settings through the joy of food.
It is open to educators, school staff, canteen staff, community members and sporting groups.
Nominations close September 30.
