FORMER Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer - who once had aspirations for the top job - has backed Malcolm Turnbull to remain PM after tomorrow’s vote.

“There are many candidates running for the liberal seat that shouldn’t have been selected, however it is still not enough to stop me backing Turnbull . With that being said though, the reversal of the council amalgamation by Labor is still not enough to get them over the line and have my vote. I believe a large reform by labour will be the key to them if they are to succeed,” he told Daily Telegraph reporter Miles Godfrey. “I will back Turnbull.”
