The countdown is on to reveal who will be crowned the owner of NSW’s most stunning mullet, but there’s still time to enter the competition.
The Daily Telegraph has put the call out to wearers of Australia’s most iconic hairstyle to send in photos of their luscious locks in honour of the cut that’s as Aussie as a meat pie at the cricket.
Already there’s some stiff competition from Northern Beaches grandfather Tony Cohen and his grandson Anthony.
Tony has rocked a mullet for 75 years and two-year-old Anthony is set to follow in his footsteps, having arrived fresh from the womb with a rattail according to his mother Brooke.
“Trying to cut his hair is like trying to bath a cat. He won’t let anyone touch his hair,” she said.
“My father still refuses to have a haircut. He’s been known for his mullets his whole life and we’re taking it through with Anthony.”
The pair prove that from one generation to the next, the mullet will be a favourite hairstyle of Australian blokes and ladies for a very long time to come.
